OBITUARIES Michael J. "Butch" Wierbicki, 67, of New Britain, beloved husband, father, and friend, died at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, on Friday August 13, 2010. Butch was born March 13, 1943 to the late Nikodym Wierbicki and the late Pauline (Reola) DiBennetto. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Maryjayne (Bruce) Wierbicki, his son Glen J. Wierbicki of Niantic, CT, his daughter Kimberly Knox and her husband James of Fisher, MN, his son Steven M. Wierbicki and his wife Catherine Piorkowski of Alpharetta, GA and his sister Carol Leigh of Bristol, CT and her son Greg Scarlett; his sister-in-law and her husband Nancy and Peter Spano of New Britain; his brother-in-law and his wife Edward and Gloria Bruce of Plainville, CT, two granddaughters Lindsey Wierbicki and Hillary Wierbicki; four grandsons Steven Wierbicki, Jr., Joseph Wierbicki, Glen Wierbicki and Tristan Wierbicki; a great granddaughter Alana Osborne and several nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends; and his beloved kitty Lady Jayne Wierbicki. Butch worked for Fafnir Bearing Co. and retired from the United Auto Workers. He was actively involved for many years in the New Britain Democratic Town Committee, a member of the Oaks Club of New Britain, and a lifelong member of the Spartan Veteran's Club. When you think of Butch, you will remember him as a good old fashioned solid man who loved his family and friends and loved a good time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Church 109 North St. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
