Richard was an active participant of the Wednesday evening Pokeno group at Riverside Health and we all enjoyed every minute he spent with us. On behalf of the Riverside Pokeno group we wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family. We will miss his wonderful smile and all that he added each week to our group. God bless and rest in peace Richard. With love and deepest sympathy, The Pokeno Group at Riverside

To All who Richard loved —we will remember .. He was warm of heart and bright of eye; Richard was the kind of guy that left a smile behind every where he went. His effortless humor, and attention to life, made him a storyteller that owned his audience. Mention a single name and Richard could evoke in the listener, a sense of being there. With animation and his rich baritone voice, he projected a calming, enchanting, image of what was, tempered with love and punctuated with a laugh. He had a gift to find the silver lining in every cloud or to create one if it didn’t exist. If ever the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is found, certainly, mixed in amongst the coins will be the smiles and stories of Richard Ahern. With love and laughter ever after, Uncle Danny’s girls, Josie, Jackie, Sally, Irene & Aunt Joanne.

I know you're organizing a tool sale up in heaven! When you walked through the doors at the Habitat Hardware/Stanley Store, I knew that we'd always share a story and a laugh, not to mention talk about tools! You started off as being one of my best customers and turned into being a good friend. Your kindness runs through your family and your spirit will live on through them.

Have such great memories growing up in the Brooklawn St. neighborhood and Mr. Ahern being in just about the middle of that street with all of us kids playing near and around his house. It was such a great way to grow up. Had the pleasure of being able to see him in later years at Joe's Diner with Steven. RIP!

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of the Ahern family at this very sad time. Richie will always be remembered as the "Big Brother" of Jimmy & Donny on Emily Drive as he was every kid's big brother on the street when we were growing up. We all loved him! And every teenaged girl had a crush on him because he was so handsome! He left this world way too soon. May he live on in your hearts through fond & happy memories always. We were so sorry to read about Richie today. We so enjoyed visiting with him and his daughter during dinner at our 50th class reunion & laughing as we recalled many stories from high school. He certainly was a great storyteller! May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Tony & Judy DeVito
