My dad, Peter Semanki, was a man that always emphasized trying to think positively to my siblings and myself, and also to his grandkids. He received his technical schooling in Belgium (after immigrating there following WW2). After immigrating to the US, he eventually worked for Pratt&Whitney Machine Tool in West Hartford, and worked there for many years. His love of electrical design and drafting carried over as a hobby as well. He loved to to draw up various technical plans at home. His various other hobbies included watching international soccer, planting and maintaining shrubs and bushes, and in his younger day working on various automotive projects, such as his 1963 split-window corvette coupe. I myself learned to be handy with various tools and the do-it-your-selfer mindset thanks to the skills I learned working with my wonderful father on various projects over the years. He was an incredible family man, and we miss him dearly!
