Obituary of Lawrence H. LeSuer

Lawrence (Larry) LeSuer (Sept 4, 1935 – Aug 15, 2024) and it is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the loss of Larry LeSuer, husband, father, grandfather, teacher and friend to many.

Larry was born in New York and moved to New Britain at the age of twelve.  He attended local schools and then joined the Army.  He served in Korea, and upon completion of his duties, attended Teachers College of CT (CCSU), where he earned his teaching degree.  Larry taught at Smalley, Slade, and New Britain High School.  

He loved life, sports, the Yankees, UCONN women’s basketball, greyhound racing, winters in Florida and summers in Connecticut, and especially family and friends.

Larry leaves his wife Marcia, son Brian and wife Carol, son Stephen and wife Sharon, daughter Laurie, Robert Sokolowski, Steven and Debby Sokolowski, Brian Menkes, and his beloved grandchildren Jake (Carina) and James LeSuer, Megan Pushard (Alycia), Allison Spurr (Casey), Carolyn, Kaley (Sev), Sam, Max, Emma, Charlie, Kamryn, Lily and Jackson.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ginger Germano, and brothers-in-law Tony Germano and Tony Perrotta.  He was predeceased by his mother Anna Hennessey, his step-father Ed Hennessey (Chief), his son David, and Michael Sokolowski.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of his family and according to his wishes.  The family would like to thank the aides that were provided by the Veteran’s Administration, and the Hospice nurses who provided helpful and compassionate care to Larry and his family during his final days.
