I worked with Donny at Somers Prison and fondly remember him to be not only a great officer, but a kind and friendly person with a wonderful sense of humor. I can't remember him without a smile on his face. When I started in 1982, he was one of the few "Old Timers" who went out of his way to help guide us new officers. Somers Prison was a better place to work, because of him. I am so sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to you, the family, for your loss. Donnie was a mentor and my friend. Don saved my life in an incident at Somersault in 1981 and i have never forgotten that. Again, I am truly sorry.

I met Donald through my brother Al Qussus who was a close friend . It was the first time in a classic car show when Don went out of way to show me and my son around and invite us for a drink. He was friendly, kind down to earth. He didnot only make us feel welcomed but showed interest to learn more about our country Jordan and my family overseas. Iam sure my brother Al is so sad now for Don leaving us today. Don trully fought a fierce battle of treatment . I followed all his hospital visits and always prayed for his recovery. Now that he is in comfort with Jesus and the angels in Heaven, he is trully in a better place away from all the pain. Lets remember Donald and his smile and kindness as the true human and Friend.
