Obituary of Charlotte O'Connor
Charlotte Cap O’Connor, 71, of Bonita Springs, Fl, North Eastham MA, formally of New Britain, CT, passed away on Tuesday June 6th, 2017 at home after a long illness. Charlotte was born in New Britain to the late Stanley and Mary Cap. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Charlotte then went on to earn her teachers certificate from Central Connecticut State University. She then went on to become a teacher spending her entire career at Platt High School in Meriden Connecticut where she was a beloved English and Films teacher before retiring in 2002. Charlotte was an avid reader and loved to go to the movies. She was active in the Platt High School Key Club and Project Excel program.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, William O’Connor. She is also survived by her son Sean O’Connor and his wife Jill of Berlin, CT; her grandchildren Kelsey O’Connor, Luke O’Connor and Cassidy Kemp; her brother David Cap and his wife Anne of Fountain Hills, AZ; her brother and sister in law Dr. Michael and Mary Anne O’Connor of Bonita Springs, Fl; her nephews Kevin O’Connor and Jamie Cap and niece Kara O’Connor as well as her faithful cat Emmy.
Visitation for Charlotte will be held Thursday (June 15th ) from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Platt High School Project Excel scholarship program, 220 Coe Avenue Meriden, CT 06451.
