Dear Family, My family lived across from your family on Magnolia St in New Britain. As a young girl Charlotte and I played together all the time. When I was in 6th grade we moved away to Bristol. I often thought about Charlotte and wondered what ever happened to her. We always had so much fun together. In those days we could play hide and seek and baseball in the street. I was so glad to read she was married and had a child and grandchildren. I will always remember my fun times playing with her, she always had a wonderful smile. My deepest sympathy to your family.

My sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Charlotte O'Connor. I am a former PHS student, and I was lucky enough to take her Films class my senior year. I will always remember her quick wit and her sincere interest in her students' lives, as well as that mischievous sparkle in her eyes...she definitely made life at PHS more interesting!
I am glad I took the opportunity to visit her after my freshman year in college. She was so kind, so connected to people she met. She will be sorely missed.

It saddens me so much to read of Charlotte's passing. I had her as my 10th grade English teacher and film's teacher. She was so friendly and happy, always joking around. We shared a love for Huey Lewis, a famous singer in the band, Huey Lewis and The News. I remember when she lost her sense of smell and taste and wondered how she could go on, but she did. I will never forget her and wonder if she's one of the reasons I'm a teacher now. My deepest condolences, Jennifer

I can say that she helped me appreciate not only what we were being taught in class, but to take that knowledge and enjoy life as well. One of the teachers in high school that I didn't consider a teacher, but an example to live by as well.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Charlotte and I worked together at Platt for many years. We both actually taught English several years, but as she knew it was teaching history that was my true forte. She will be sorely missed. I am only sad that I just found out that we had both retired to Florida (St. Petersburg for me) and should have gotten together at some point. Peace.

Very sad to hear of Mrs. O'Conner's passing. She was my favorite English teacher at Platt back in the 80's.
To her family I send prayers and condolences. Know that she had a positive impact on my students' lives during her time as a teacher.

I took Mrs. O'Connor's Films class my senior year at Platt High School (1989). That was the best and most educational class I took in high school. That class and her teaching opened a new experience for me, which is what education is supposed to do. Her quick wit, humor and down to earth personality was refreshing and impact-full. She made a difference in many lives! My deepest condolences to her entire family.

Mrs. O'Connor (20 years later) is still the most memorable teacher that I ever had! She is one of the reasons, I, myself, became a teacher. Her ability to teach, her sense of humor and her writ (I believe she taught me what this word meant :)) are things I try to emulate daily in my own classroom. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. She was truly a very special woman.

Mrs O'Connor was one of my favorite teachers at Platt HS. I had her for films my senior year in 88-89. She was a wonderful spirit and had a lively soul. She touched my life in a positive way in life.
I am truly sorry to her husband, children, grandchildren and all who feel her loss. Godspeed Mrs O'Connor.
