He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1980 where he formed many enduring friendships. It was there that he created the DTO club, his first foray into business.

Jim spent his professional carrier as a Financial Advisor at various institutions including GMAC, Fleet Capital and most recently, TIAA.

The light of Jim's life was his beloved son, Ian Patrick who provided him with some of his greatest joys. In addition to Ian, Jim leaves his siblings, William, Brian and Margaret, as well as his devoted nieces and nephew, Jennifer, Sarah, Heather, Shannon, Jessica, Michael and Erin.

Jim's love for family traditions helped establish wonderful times, most notably, James Taylor concerts at Tanglewood Music Center and raging 4th of July parties at his home. He was also instrumental in organizing UCONN football games and Michigan football gatherings.
