Dear Margaret Brian and Bill. Please accept my sincere condolences. Jim was the best friend I ever had, I went through more life experiences both good and bad with Jim than with any other person in my life. Although we drifted apart and only saw each other occasionally I knew if I called he would answer or call me right back. I did not know your Mom passed away recently and I should have.

My heartfelt condolences to Jim's family and his son Ian. I was devastated and my heart broken. Amazing man, loyal, all truth, nothing but. Have memories of Jim in high school.... no nonsense person and loyal friend, if had that opportunity. He was always full of rationale, feist, love for the loyalty of family and good friends. He was a great debater. We are all better people because we knew him during different chapters of his life. God Bless Jim. Aquinas Memories are in my heart today. Jim Walsh will always remain within our hearts and memories. We will all get together someday to celebrate those chapters.

I am shocked and so sorry for your loss. Jim was one of the great ones! We connected right away from our first days at Merrill Lynch and we remained friends over the years and would often grab lunch or a pint together. He was a wonderful father as he always talked about Ian and I know he loved spending time with his family because of the stories he told! May the great memories you have of him be with you always and may he rest in peace forever.

I’ve known Jim for over 20 years, having been introduced long ago through his brother Brian. Jim and I spent a number of years as roommates and he originally helped me through a difficult financial time by accepting me as his roommate long ago. Jim had a quick wit and a cutting sense of humor that always produced many laughs. He was personable and added significantly to any social event or gathering he attended. He was a regular golf partner who had a competitive streak that made every golf outing a true contest. He could have been a PGA referee in the sense that no rules bending or compromise would be tolerated under his watch. He relished his many wins – and was good at reminding you of those losses as often as possible – but scoring better than him made my (fewer) wins more memorable. He had a great group of friends from all different walks of life that made for many memorable golf and other social events. I'm going to miss those golf outings, and all the football and other various social get-togethers with Jim and his family and friends - all class people; however, most of all, I’ll miss Jim's friendship. There aren't many Jimmy's out there and he will be sorely missed. I pray for his son Ian and the rest of Jim's beloved and loving family – and all those whose Jim’s life has touched. This time being especially sensitive and troubling for the Walsh’s, having just lost their beloved Mother, Ruth, but three short weeks ago. Rest in Peace my friend. God bless.

To Jim's Family -
I am saddened and shocked to hear of Jim's passing. My heart goes out to all and especially to his son Ian. As a classmate of Jim's - I will always remember his love of the music group the Doors.
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Rest in peace -

Brian, Bill, Margaret & families....I can't image the sense of loss you're going through...Jim's friends & GMAC family are heartbroken as well. Jimmy was such a kind-spirited person whose infectious laugh will always live on within everyone who had the chance to be with him. He & I were so much alike in MANY ways (good & bad). Whenever we busted each other's chops about our character defects, the other person would always laugh because the derision was SPOT on. Jim stopped in to see me in Hamden a couple of months ago & I asked him if he was still active on the dating sites...in typical Walshy fashion he replied "I wouldn't subject anymore women to such vunerability". Your family will be in my thoughts/prayers in the difficult coming days/weeks/months. May your faith provide you His loving support.
