Obituary of Joseph A. Kohanski

Joseph A. Kohanski, 80, of New Britain, died Wednesday at home. Born in New Britain and a lifelong resident he had been employed for many years at the Guida Dairy. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Army and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Mr. Kohanski is survived by his wife of sixty years, Dorothy (Czellecz) Kohanski, his daughter Judy and her husband Michael Guida of New Britain, his son Joseph and his wife Elizabeth Kohanski of Southington; his grandchildren Jonathan and his wife Kristen Guida of Southington, Michele and her husband Todd Kushman of Southington, Ashley and her husband Jonathan Davis of Newington, Christopher Kohanski and his fiance' Laura, of Bristol and Brian Kohanski and his fiance' Lisa of New Britain; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church (corner of East St. and Newington Ave.)New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Central CT 205 West Main St. New Britain, CT 06052 or to the American Cancer Society 538 Preston Ave. Meriden, CT 06450.
