Obituary of John Hubbard

John Greene Hubbard, 91, of Kensington, husband of the late Adele Sylvester Hubbard, died Thursday , December 23, 2010. Born in New Britain on March 1, 1919, he was the son of the late John Leroy and Belinda (Greene) Hubbard. He was a graduate of New Britain High School and lived in Kensington since 1964. John was employed by the United States Postal Service in New Britain retiring in 1980. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church, Kensington. John is survived by four daughters Anne Hubbard of Germany, Alice O'Connor and her husband David of Easthampton, MA, Mary Kelleher and her husband Michael of Enfield, and Ellen Kierwiak and her husband Joseph of Kensington; four grandchildren Joseph R. Kierwiak IV, Kara, Bridget, and Kelly O'Connor. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was predeceased by his sister Mary (Hubbard) Cimino. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (Dec.29,2010) 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Church 485 Alling St. Kensington, CT 06037.
