Roger Lavoie, 67, of New Britain died Monday at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in St. Agatha, ME, the son of the late Fortunate and Phoebe (Thibeau) Lavoie, he lived in New Britain for twenty five years. He was employed as a carpenter with local union # 24 and #43. He was a third degree member of the Kensington Knights of Columbus, a Life member of the French Model Club and a Life member of the St. Jean the Baptist Society.
Roger is survived by his wife Suzanne (Standish) Lavoie, his mother-in-law Margaret (Pellitier) Standish of New Britain, a step-son Andre Berube of
New York, two sons Steve and his wife Diane Lavoie, Vernon and Kim Lavoie, all of Florida; a daughter Hope Lavoie of Canada; three brothers Walter and his wife Cecile Lavoie of Frenchville, ME, Leo Lavoie and Andrien and his wife Lucille Lavoie all of Madawaska, ME; five sisters Jermaine Tardiff of Madawaska, ME, Elsie Raymond, Yvette and her husband Raymond Lizotte, Patsy and Fern Dionne and Linda and Rudy Mercure all of Florida and several nieces and nephews including Brian and his wife Cathy Lavoie of Berlin. He was predeceased by a brother Roland Lavoie and a sister Irene Tardiff. A service will be held Monday at 6:30 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
