Obituary of Dorothea Leupold

Dorothea (Bertz) Leupold, of New Britain, died Tuesday Night at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Otto and Minnie (Miller) Bertz, she had worked at Manero's Steak House and Knowles Grinding in Berlin for many years. She spent many happy winters in Florida with her late husband, Frederick Leupold, who died May 7, 1999. Mrs. Leupold is survived by her daughter Darlene and her husband Raymond Vereneau, of New Britain, her son Wayne Leupold of Largo, FL; her grandchildren Rachel and her husband Joshua White, Joseph Vereneau, Rebecca and her husband Michael Lorch and Sarah Vereneau; her cherished great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Ashley and Emily White, Jeremy Nason, Jacob and Jackson Vereneau and Madison Lorch. She also leaves a sister Marjorie Dickman of Plainville, a brother Leslie and his wife Shirley Bertz of Syracuse, NY; and two very special friends: Pat Gineo and her wonderful family and Marie Iozzo and several nieces and nephews. Dorothea's family would like to express a special thanks to the Hospital of Central Connecticut, N3, to Bonnie, Amy and Judy and also to Brittany Farms for Tanya and Andy, for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
