Obituary of Frieda Averdiek

Frieda (Harrerr) Averdiek, 96, of New Britain died July 14, 2010 at an area convalescent home. She was the widow of Helmut Averdiek. Born in Bavaria, Germany, September 19, 1913, she came to New Britain in 1953 and was employed by Emhart Corporation for many years before retiring in 1971. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Benno and Hildegard Kohlmann of New Britain, three grandchildren, Rosemarie and Randy Nyborg, Benno Kohlmann, Jr., and Heide and John Tarchini, two great grandchildren, Kristen and Lisa-Marie Tarchini, a niece, Lydia Williams and her three children and a special friend, Fritz Sillner. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by a sister, Margaret Wanko and her husband Michael. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:00 A.M. until services.
