Obituary of Rosario Caruso

Rosario Caruso, 84 of New Britain, beloved husband of the late Maria (D'Avirro) Caruso passed away on Monday (June 14, 2010) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Rosario was the son of the late Sebastiano and Sebastiana (Marotta) Caruso, born on April 16, 1926 in Priolo, Sicily. After attending college in Catania, Italy, majoring in accounting, Rosario came to the United States to pursue the American Dream and landed in New Britain, CT. His career in accounting spans over 40 years, helping friends and family "do their books". Rosario seldom accepted money for his services. Before his retirement, Rosario worked for Raymond T. Bame and Associates doing tax returns for individuals as well as businesses. His love of numbers was obvious. Upon his retirement Rosario loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Generale Ameglio Society of New Britain. Rosario is survived by his two sons, Sebastian Caruso and his wife Tina and Joseph Caruso and his wife Nina; loving grandchildren, Ariana, Dante, Tiana, Christina and Rick Bonfiglio, Mickey and Pia Toro, and Myles; his brothers, Vincenzo Caruso and his wife Leah, Salvatore Caruso and his wife Sara, Joseph Caruso and Santo Caruso of Italy; his sisters, Olga Calvo and her husband Nino and Marianna Darienzo. He is also survived by six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. For many years his beloved friend and companion Emily Bellantuono, with her endless strength and courage, was by his side. We will all keep him close to our hearts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd, New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, New Britain. Friends may call at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq, New Britain also on Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M.
