It was with sadness that I read Dr. Bray's obituary this morning. I worked at NBGH years ago and did not have a particular fondness for surgeons. But, there is always an exception to the rule and the exception was Dr. Bray. He epitomized professionalism and always displayed respect for both his patients and the various staff members of the hospital. One incident which always stands out in my mind is when a number of the nurses were trying to calm and care for a belligerent patient who continually shouted obscenities at us. Dr. Bray was in the nurses station and heard the ruckus. While this person was not his patient, he came into the room and firmly, but quietly told the patient to "knock it off" and explained that we were only trying to help him. I so appreciated his assistance and display of understanding. My sincere sympathies to Dr. Bray's family. I am certain you will miss him and I hope your personal memories will assist you through this difficult time.
