Obituary of Katherine Beaupre

Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Katherine "Casey" Conway Beaupre, age 19, of Kensington, died at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in the midst of a heroic battle against leukemia on Wednesday, March 10. Casey graduated from Miss Porter's School in 2008, where she was a gifted student athlete and talented filmmaker, a passion she continued to pursue in her later studies at Emerson College in Boston. Whether sick or well, Casey always wove into her life elements of fun and creativity. She had a gift for making friends of all ages and from all walks of life. Casey attended the High Mountain Institute in Colorado and cancer camps at Big Sky Kids in Montana and First Descents in Idaho. She gave and received support and inspiration from fellow survivors all over the country. Casey, with her mother Rosemary, co-produced a book describing the lessons she learned from her illness. The primary message of Casey's book was her profound gratitude to all who had lent support to her and her family through the challenges of her illness. Casey was as comfortable outdoors as indoors, and loved snowboarding, rock climbing, kayaking, and surfing. A film fanatic, she loved watching movies with her mother and sister and critiquing them in great detail. A quick-as-lightning left-fielder herself, Casey was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, and loved attending Sox games with her father, Bob, at Fenway Park. Casey and her mother were inseparable companions during Casey's years of treatment, and the depth of the loss to Rosemary, Bob, and their family cannot be expressed in words. Her parents, siblings, and cousins meant everything to Casey. She had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome in her life; Casey was a source of light and delight. Casey is survived by a family that will always hold her in their hearts: her parents Bob and Rosemary; devoted older sister, Elizabeth; treasured twin brother, Tim; her dear family friend, RoseAnn Sbona, her aunts and uncles: Tim and Kathryn Conway; Marytherese (Tweety) and John Rodis; Richard (Fritz) and Alicia Conway; Shirley Beaupre; Russell and Carmen Beaupre; and her beloved cousins, Allie, Meghan, Katrina, Richard, Anna, Jack, Jessica, Caroline, Monique, Matthew and Kaleigh. Friends may call at the Farrell Funeral Home at 110 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT on Sunday, March 14, from 1-4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, at 75 Main Street, Farmington, CT on Monday, March 15, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Casey may be made to: Big Sky Kids Cancer Camp, 6901 Goldenstein Lane, Bozeman, MT 59715.
