Obituary of Beatrice Christy

Beatrice (Gagliardi) Lanza Christy, 87, of New Britain, died Tuesday Night at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Camillo and Mary (Nesta) Gagliardi, she was the widow of John Lanza. Bea was employed for many years at the Anthony Rao Store. She was a corporator of the New Britain-Berlin YMCA, a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, a member of St. Joseph's Church and had been a an aide at St. Joseph's School. She is survived by a son John and his wife Nannette Lanza of Atco, NJ, two grandchildren Suzanne Lanza and Ryan Lanza; two sisters Florence Garner of New Britain, and Theresa Glownia of Kensington, and a brother Alfred and his wife Joan Gagliardi of Kensington. Funeral services will be held Friday 8:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
