Obituary of Ruth Ann Pietrowicz

Ruth Ann (Neurath) Pietrowicz, 55, of New Britain died at her home on Sunday, December 13, 2009, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Born in New Britain, January 21, 1954, she was the daughter of Ruth Kelly Zisk of New Britain and the late Otto H. Neurath, Jr. A graduate of New Britain High School, she later was employed by the Hartford for 27 years. In addition to her mother, Ruth Ann is survived by her son, Christopher Pietrowicz and his wife Becky of Plainville; her daughter, Cheryl Pietrowicz; a brother, David Neurath and his wife Kathy and their children of Berlin and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her step-father, Robert Zisk and a brother, Michael "Guido" Neurath. "Tammy" also leaves many friends and family who will dearly miss her, but also know that she is in a better place where there will be no more pain and suffering for her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain also on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Ruth Ann wanted to extend a special thank you to the nurses in oncology at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at the New Britain Campus as well as Dr. Pogue for "putting up with her." The family also wishes to thank the Hospice nurses that cared for her.
