Obituary of Kathleen M. Gabes

Kathleen M. (Timko) Gabes, 75 of Southington died suddenly on Nov. 23, 2009. She was the widow of Frank J. Gabes. Born in New Britain on Sept. 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Duran) Timko. Mrs. Gabes was employed by Guido's Supermarket in Southington and Northeast Utilities, where she worked in the Nuclear Energy Division for many years before her retirement. She will be sadly missed by all. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cheryl Gabes Rice and her husband, Thaddeus of Newington and son, Timothy M. Gabes and his wife Deborah of Cape Cod. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Tyler and Shayne Rice, two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and good friends including her companion, Michael Foligno. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth Zigmund and Regina Misteri and her brothers John Timko Jr. and Paul Timko. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 9AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Holy Spirit Church in Newington. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5PM-8PM.
