Mary (Karosis) Zisk, 90, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2009 at the Jefferson House in Newington, CT. She was a loving, caring mother who devoted her life to her family; she will be missed by all who knew her. In her early days, Mary worked at the Cremo Brewery in New Britain. Later, she worked at the Walnut Hill Convalescent Home in New Britain for twenty five years. After retirement she generously donated her time to helping others at the Manchester Hospital for ten years and the Jefferson House for four years. Her dedication and willingness to be of assistance made Mary an asset whereever she was. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Zisk, Sr. and her two brothers John and Tony Karosis. She is survived by her sister Nel Decapua of Newington, and her children Raymond Zisk, Jr. and his wife Rose of Burlington, Sharon Wilmot and her husband Leyton of Manchester, CT, Jane Zisk of Wethersfield, and William Zisk and his wife Mary of Bristol; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Heather Crager, Kara Wilmot, William Corrinda and Cassandra Zisk, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be calling hours at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain on Wednesday (Nov. 11, 2009) from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. The family would like to thank the staff of the Jefferson House for the exceptional care Mary received while a resident at their facility. The dedication and love they showed will not be forgotten.
