Obituary of Edna Kobus

Edna L. (Boskoski) Kobus, 87, of New Britain, died Monday night at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Zysk) Boskoski, she was a life long resident. She graduated from Teachers College (CCSU) in 1943, also attended Columbia University before receiving her Masters Degree from CCSU. She was a certified teacher for grades K-8 and worked as a substitute teacher for years before returning to teach at the Lincoln School in 1963. She retired in 1992 and was proud to have been a parishioner of St. Maurice Church, a member of the New Britain Senior Center, St. Andrews Church Seniors and the Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by a daughter, Jayne Kurzel of Cromwell, a son, Robert Kobus, Sr. of New Britain and grandchildren, Jesse Kurzel of Cromwell, Robert Kobus, Jr. of New Britain and Sheri and her husband Adam Schwartz of Southington. Mrs. Kobus is also survived by a brother, Robert Boskoski of New Britain and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private and burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives may call at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq, New Britain on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
