Obituary of Ralph R. Girardin

Ralph R. Girardin, 77, of New Britain, died Wednesday morning at an area convalescent home. Born in Rumford, ME, he lived in New Britain most of his life and retired from the Herald after twenty five years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, the pistol team at Colt Firearms and was an avid bowler and fisherman. Mr. Girardin is survived by his wife Blanche (Robichaud) Girardin, three daughters Linda and her husband Rick Ruzzo of Colchester, Terry and her husband Vinny Crucitti of Hartford and Melissa and her husband John Prisavage of New Britain; two sons Ken and his wife Rose Girardin of Plantsville and Alan and his wife Maryjo Girardin of Bristol; 11 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Norman Girardin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church (corner of East St. and Newington Ave.). Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 1579 Straits Turnpike Unit C Middlebury, CT 06762. Ralph's family would like to thank the staff of Andrew House, South Wing, especially Elaine, for her loving care. They would also like to thank the staff of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care.
