Obituary of Barbara E. West

Barbara E. West, 83, formerly of New Britain, died Sunday at the Marlborough Health Care. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. West, who died December 1995. Born in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of the late William and Bernice (Proctor) Holmes, she lived most of her life in New Britain and was employed for twenty years at LaRosa's Restaurant in New Britain. She loved animals, especially cats, enjoyed entertaining and was the life of numerous picnics. Mrs. West is survived by her daughter Charlene Bernacki, her husband Peter and their sons Joseph and Jeffrey, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by her children Cheryl and her husband Richard Gallagher, Michael West, Robert West and Sharon Dubois, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Francis Holmes. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Barbara's family would like to thank the staff of the Marlborough Health Care for all their help and attention to Barbara.
