Obituary of Thomas Francis Xavier Whalen

Thomas F. X. Whalen, 68, of Windsor, died Tuesday at home. Born in Pittsfield, MA, he lived many years in Rocky Hill, moving to Windsor one year ago and was the son of the late Richard and Charlotte (Wheeler) Whalen. He was employed for twenty three years at The Travelers Insurance Co. as a fleet manager and was well known as a church organist playing for many years at St. Maurice Church in New Britain.
Tom is survived by his companion of many years John Lavoie, his former wife Lois Douville Whalen, two sons Daniel F. Whalen, Craig T. Whalen, a brother Richard E. Whalen, Jr., five grand children and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain, CT. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian's Cemetery, Middlefield. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association 306 Industrial Park Road Suite 105 Middletown, CT. 06457.
