Adolph T. Warnat, 95, of Southington died February 24, 2009 at an area convalescent home. He was the widower of Elizabeth (Morley) Warnat, who died in 1979. Born and raised in New Britain, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Bender) Warnat, he lived many years in Southington. He attended local schools, graduated from New Britain High School, Moody Business School and the International Accountants Society Correspondence School. He was a public accountant for many years before becoming an accountant/auditor for the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation and Office of Fleet Operations, retiring in 1980. During World War II, Adolph was employed the Springfield Ordinance District and inspected cannons that were manufactured by Colt's in Hartford. Later, he worked at Commercial Tool Manufacturing. After retirement Adolph traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe, especially enjoying trips to Lithuania, sponsored by St. Andrews Church. Mr. Warnat is survived by four children James and his wife Sharon Warnat of Newburyport, MA, Donald and his wife Beth Warnat of Rocky Hill, Richard Warnat of Granby, and Elizabeth Warnat of Southington; six grandchildren Mark, Christopher and Justin Warnat, Steven, David and Elena Hernandez; three great grandchildren Benjamin, Jacob and Mackenzie Warnat; and a sister Eleanor Frenier of Northampton, MA He was predeceased by three sisters Dorothy Frawley, Martha Langsford and Adelle Paulauskas, a brother John Warnat and a dear friend Eleanor (Hackbarth) Morley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Church, 396 Church St. New Britain, CT. 06051.
