OBITUARIES Vito A.J. Luisi, 79, beloved husband and father, died at home on Christmas Eve, surrounded by his family, after long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Emanuel and Anna (Lombardo) Luisi, he moved to Kensington in 1968. For many years, he was a postal service employee. After retirement, he then worked at the Covenant Village in Cromwell. During the Korean Conflict, Vito was a U.S. Navy Corpsman, serving his country. He was a member of the Hartford Sportsman Club, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, a former member of the Berlin VFW and was a member of St. Ann's Church and St. Maurice Church. Mr. Luisi is survived by his beloved wife Marie (Carpinteri) Luisi; his children, whom he was so proud of, daughter Theresa and her husband John Ward of Ashland, MA, daughter Ann Marie and her husband Benjamin Rosado and their dog Brutus, whom he treated as a grandson, of East Hampton, his son Michael and his wife Jennifer, her daughter Destiny, and their dogs Coco and Bam Bam; his brother Joseph Luisi of West Hartford, his sister Isabel Helinski of Vernon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Sebastian Luisi. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Church 109 North St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Central CT 205 West Main St. New Britain, CT 06052-1318.
