Obituary of Anne Sudano
Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anne (Mangiafico) Sudano, 94, of New Britain, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born to the late Vincent and Maria (Ciarcia) Mangiafico, she lived most of her life in New Britain.
Early in her career, Anne worked at Lander's, Frary and Clark and in 1989, retired after 25 years at New Britain General Hospital. Several months after her retirement, she was predeceased by the unexpected death of her husband of nearly 50 years, Anthony Joseph Sudano.
Anne was a woman of a faith, intellect and ability. She was a creative cook, who had the gift to take anything she had in her house and turn it into a great meal. She kept her mind active by reading 2 newspapers a day, following the political scene and voting in nearly every election. But foremost, Anne was a woman of deep faith, whose devotion to God made her put love and charity above all else. She prayed daily to thank God for the blessings in her life that really mattered…the love of her family. And with that, she was able to truly put life into perspective. She believed in forgiveness for the sake of the past, the present and the future.
She was a member of St. Maurice Church and The Woman's club of New Britain.
Anne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lorraine and Carl Vilas of New Britain; her granddaughter Cara Anne and her great-grandson, Ethan Anthony whom she cherished; a brother Joseph and sister Mary; and several close nieces and nephews, who were a great source of love and comfort to her.
Funeral services will be held Friday (Mar. 11, 2016) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Maurice Church at 100 Wightman Road New Britain.
