Obituary of Lisa Carver

Lisa Radke Carver of Old Saybrook, wife of Paul Carver, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side after a long struggle with cancer on February 10, 2016.
Born on April 26, 1960 to Gustave and Marlyn (DeBonis) Radke, Lisa was raised in Waterbury, CT and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. She went on to earn an Associates degree in paralegal studies in 1982 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1985, both from Post College. Later in life, Lisa received her MPA from the University of Connecticut. In addition, she passed the CPA exam and was a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Lisa managed the office of then Congressman John Rowland and also served as Executive Director of the Connecticut Republican Party as well as Chief of Staff for former New Britain Mayor Timothy Stewart. At the time of her death, she was the Finance Director for the Town of Old Saybrook.
Lisa was very active in state and local politics, serving as Republican Town Committee Chair in New Britain and Vice Chair of Connecticut Republicans. She was also a member of the Republican State Central Committee from the 6th district.
She was also very active in her church and community serving on many local boards. Lisa was the Treasurer at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church for many years and she also served on the school's Board of Education.
In addition to her husband Paul, Lisa is survived by her son, Alexander Carver of New Britain; her daughter, Tory Carver of Old Saybrook; her sister, Lynne Lautenschlager and husband Marty of Wells, ME; her mother-in-law, Ancilla Carver of New Britain; her brother-in-law, Marc Carver and wife Linda; her sister-in-law, Traci Coleman; her nieces, Sarah and Emily Carver; and her nephews, Louis Jr. and Alonzo Coleman.
Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church 87 Franklin Square New Britain Saturday (Feb. 20, 2016) at 10:30 AM. The family will greet guests at the church at 10am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy people may make a donation, in Lisa's name to Saint Matthew's Lutheran School at 87 Franklin Sq. in New Britain.
