Obituary of Anthony F. Baldino

Anthony F. Baldino passed away peacefully on Thursday February 4th at The Hospital of Central CT, New Britain campus. He was born on June 25th 1928 in White Plains, NY and raised in New Britain. He attended local schools and served his country in the US Army with a tour in Japan. He was the beloved husband of Grace Baldino (Cocola) for 64 thoroughly wonderful years.
Tony plied his trade as a carpenter for well over 40 years retiring in 1993. During that time he also served the city of New Britain first as a Supernumerary Fire Fighter and then as a Supernumerary Police Officer for many years. He was well known as an outstanding baseball player having played well into his forties for various area teams such as the YMSAC Club and St. Ann's where he played infield with his brothers Pat and Tommy. He was also an avid golfer and a lifelong New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his loving wife Grace, his daughter Kathy Call and her husband Bill of Vernon, his daughter Debbie Noddin and her husband Mike of Bristol. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren; Kristen Helmecki of Vernon, Derek Helmecki and his wife Kara and their son Lucas of Terryville, Jessica Smith and her husband Randy and their children Sydney and Max of Farmington, and Kyle Noddin and his fiancée Katie Champion of Bristol.
He is also survived by his sister Natalie Paladino, his brother Pat Baldino and his wife Debbie, and his brother Frank Baldino and wife Kathy. He also leaves behind his brothers' in-law Sebby Bianca, Donald Ring and Anthony Cocola, and his sisters' in-law Lorraine Baldino and Lillian Baldino and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Gaetano and Caroline Baldino (Pace) and his sister Mary Gallo and her husband Mario, his sister Betty Ring, his sister Fannie Bianca, and his sister Carolyn DeSeno and her husband Donald. He was also predeceased by his brother Johnny Baldino and his wife Mona, his brother Jimmy Baldino, his brother Tommy Baldino, and his nephew Joey Gallo and nieces Dawn Baldino, Carol Baldino and Anna Baldino (Bertolino).
Tony had a great love for his family and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle to all of us who were fortunate enough to love him. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Church North St. New Britain. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
