William J. McMurray, 95 , of Berlin, died Monday (July 6, 2015) at home. He was the husband of the late June (Ward) McMurray who died Feb.6, 2002. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Edward and Mary K. (Mullin) McMurray, he lived all his life in Berlin. He was the owner of the Warmac Garage in East Berlin for many years. During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army. He was extremely proud of his Irish Heritage, was known as an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Berlin. Mr. McMurray is survived by his daughter Marleen M. Johnson and her partner, Geb Slocum of Woodbridge; two grandchildren, Kristin and her husband Natale DiNatale of Cheshire, and William R. Johnson of Old Saybrook; three great grandchildren Nadia DiNatale, Robert DiNatale and Christopher DiNatale; a brother John P. and his wife Nancy McMurray of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Robert McMurray and Edward McMurray and a sister Eileen Massicotte. Funeral services will be held Friday (July 10, 2015) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin. Burial will follow in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church 48 Cottage St. East Berlin, CT 06032.
