Obituary of Yolanda Burr

Yolanda Burr passed away Fri. April 3. at CT. Hospice in Branford CT. Mrs. Burr was born, raised and educated in New Britain to Giustino Salivio and Eugenia Marinelli. She continued her education at St. Joseph College in West Hartford and later earned her masters degree from University of CT. Yolanda married Frank G. Biondi in 1954, they remained in New Britain where they raised their family and she was a dedicated elementary school teacher. After retiring in 1989 Yolanda moved to Cape Cod and became an active member in the Hospital Auxiliary and the Church Of The Holy Spirit. An avid tennis player and skier she also enjoyed knitting, hiking, volunteer work and time at the Orleans Yacht Club. Yolanda is predeceased by her first husband Frank Biondi, taken early by cancer, Fredrick H. Burr, all of her siblings, Laurino Salvio, Celia Banola, Louis Salvio, Dorothy Benson and Santina Landrigan. She leaves three children, Frank Biondi of Nags Head, N.C., Laura Weeks and her husband Rick of Orleans, MA. and Tom Biondi and his wife Kim of Berlin, CT. She also leaves two grandsons Emmett W. Weeks and Thomas F. Biondi (TJ). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church Of The Holy Spirit 204 Monument Rd, Orleans, MA 02653. A memorial service will be held at Farrell Funeral Home in New Britain, CT. Sat. May 16, at 10:30 A.M.
