Claire M. (Gaudreau) Vallieres, 96, of New Britain, died Tuesday (April 7, 2015) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in Willimantic, the daughter of the late August and Marie (Caisse) Gaudreau, she lived in New Britain since 1941. She was the wife of the late Albert Vallieres, who died Feb. 27, 1997. During her career, Claire worked at the Fafnir Bearing Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, the Ladies Guild of the church, the New Britain Senior Center and the Fafnir Retirees. Mrs. Vallieres is survived by her daughter Madeleine and her husband, Raymond R. Newton of Newington, her son Laurence and his wife, Sandra M. Vallieres of Manchester, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; a sister Jeannette Serwanski of Chaplin, CT and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church 655 East St. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00AM until the time of the mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Office of Radio & Television 15 Peach Orchard Road Prospect, CT 06712. or St. John the Evangelist Church.
