Dick James Percival (age 71) of Kensington entered into eternal rest on March 16, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Heath) with whom he would've celebrated 50 years of marriage in May. Dick was born in New Britain on June 4, 1943, son of the late Howard and Helen (Reardon) Percival. He owned and operated Royal Tire Service Inc. in New Britain with honesty and integrity for 46 years. He was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger. He took great pride in being a man of his word. Dick was a member of the South Kensington Fire Department for many years and was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was the loving father of four sons: John and his fiancé Sue Dann of Kensington, Steven and Robin of Southington, Scott and Lisa of Avon, and James and Raeshelle of Southington. His ten grandchildren were the joy of his life: Adam and Amanda; Jacob and Ethan; Dale and Cassidy; Lilly, Andrew, Gracie and James. Dick is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law; Patricia and John Laz of Harpswell, ME and Karen Percival of Portland ME. He also leaves brothers-in-law, Robert and Anne Heath of Southington and John Heath of NC along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Russell Percival. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10:00AM at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will follow in South Burying Ground in Kensington, where he will be laid to rest near his good friend Ed. Calling hours will be Thursday March 19, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Church 485 Alling St. Kensington, CT 06037. Dick will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. He was a good and decent man and we loved him very much.
