Geraldine Dionne Cyr was taken into God's hands on Saturday (March 14, 2015) to be with her husband of 61 years, Lee Cyr. She was born in Madawaska, Maine, on March 12, 1922, the daughter of Edwidge and Pierre Dionne. She was a communicant at St. Joseph's Church for 56 years. She was devoted to the Virgin Mary and was a promoter for the Miraculous Medal for over 63 years. She was a woman of strong faith and her rosary was never far from her hands. She is survived by her daughter , Ann, and son-in-law Richard Albert; granddaughter Michele, and her husband, Tom Ponte; granddaughter Denise, and her husband, Alex Cosentino. She is also survived by her great grandsons, Sam Giangreco and Luke Cosentino; her great granddaughters, Alice, Faith and Hope Ponte and Camille Cosentino. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Ferdinand Cyr, from Madawaska, Maine and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Lachance, Ursula Langdo, Dolores Bourgoin, her brothers, Dolar and Alcide Dionne.
Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Dr. Wallingford, CT 06492.
