Mary L. (Campagnano) Berarducci, 96, of Plainville died Friday (Feb. 27, 2015) at home. Born in Southington, CT on October 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine (Mongillo) Campagnano. She attended Southington schools and later went on to become a beautician where she worked for several years as a hairdresser at a Southington beauty shop. She married her husband Albert in 1946 and became a homemaker, devoting herself to the raising of their three children in a comfortable and stable home. They remained married for 60 years until his death in 2008.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville and an active member of the AARP and the Plainville Senior Center. She was a charter member of the Plainville Italian Women's Civic Club throughout the many years of its existence. One of her greatest enjoyments was spending the summer months at White Sand Beach, Old Lyme with family and friends for over 60 years. In her later years she was able to remain at home under the compassionate care of Vilma Cooper of Companions and Homemakers.
Mrs. Berarducci is survived by three sons Dr. Albert (Bert) and his wife, Susan Berarducci of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Joseph Berarducci of Farmington and David Berarducci of Boston, MA; two grandchildren Thomas Berarducci of Chicago and Jennifer Meyer and husband Austin of Powell, OH; great-grandson Jack and great-granddaughter Evelyn, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Larry and Nelson and sisters Jenny, Anne and Julia
Her last moments were as she lived and as she would have hoped her passing to be - peaceful, at home and as if life's fuel just calmly ran out . . . no pain, or fanfare; as if it was just meant to be.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
