Lorrie (Bell) Petroka, 75, of New Britain, was called home on her birthday Monday (Feb.23,2015). Lifelong resident of New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Meehan) Bell. She was the wife of the late John "Jack" Petroka, who died June 4, 2008. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, she also belong to the Ladies Guild of the church. She so loved her family, enjoyed camping with them and loved all God's creatures. She also enjoyed watching the daily televised mass. Mrs. Petroka is survived by her children, John and his wife, Grace Petroka of Deep River, David and his wife, Linda Petroka of Farmington, Noelle and her husband, Alan Bisson of Durham, and Derek Shawn Petroka of New Britain, her six grandchildren, Lisa, Heather, Johnny, Ethan, Eric and Ivan; her great grandson John Jay Ferrara; her sister Patricia and her husband Michael Giordano of Wappingers Falls, NY, two brothers in law Edward and his wife Ruth Petroka of Santa Rose,CA, Louis Petroka of Newington; two sisters in law Marilyn Petroka of New Britain and Rose Marie and her husband Joseph Kozun of Newington and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Scott Petroka and her son in law John Charles Ferrara. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church 1755 Stanley St. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Office of Radio & Television 15 Peach Orchard Rd. Prospect, CT 06712 or to The Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111.
