Jean G. (Goulet) Gregory, 86, of Berlin, died very peacefully at home with family. (Oct.14,2014) . Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Laurie and Margaret (Burns) Goulet, she moved to Berlin in 1979. She began her career as a secretary at Stanley Works, then was the secretary for the Dean of Men at Ferris State University in Michigan. Returning to this area, Jean was the secretary in the Guidance Department of New Britain High School and then retired from Central Connecticut State University where she had worked in the library. Early on, she was a member of the Women's Benefit Fife and Drum Organization, was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary , post 10732 and was a member of St. Paul's Church. Mrs. Gregory, the beloved wife of Alfred A. Gregory is survived by two sons Robert, and his wife Dianne Gregory of New Jersey, Bruce, and his wife Diane Gregory of Georgia; a daughter Laurie, and her husband Chet Matczak of Tariffville; two grand children Christopher Gregory of Georgia and Michael Gregory of New Jersey; her sister Rita McGuiness of Newington; several nieces and nephews and two special cousins Fran Walker and Mary Ayala. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Church Kensington. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101-9929or to St. Paul's Church 479 Alling St. Kensington, CT 06037. The Gregory family would like to say a special thank you to Jean's caregiver, Shannon Scharr.
