OBITUARIES John "Jack" Petroka, 73, of New Britain, died Wednesday. Born in Wilks-Barre, PA, the son of the late Louis and Anna (Karmilowicz) Petroka, he lived in New Britain most of his life. He had been employed in Construction as a lather for many years and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of almost forty seven years, Lorrie (Bell) Petroka, his daughter Noelle Ferrara of Meriden, three sons John and his wife Grace Petroka of Deep River, David and his wife Linda Petroka of Farmington, and Derek Shawn Petroka of New Britain; six grand children Lisa, Heather, Johnny, Ethan, Eric and Ivan; a sister Rose Marie and her husband Joseph Kozun of Newington, two brothers Edward and his wife Ruth Petroka of Sante Rosa, CA, and Louis Petroka of Newington, a sister in law Marilyn Petroka of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Scott Petroka and his son in law John Ferrara. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church Stanley St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
