OBITUARIES
Michael R. Parsons, 55, of New Britain, died unexpectedly Thursday morning. Born in New Britain, the son of Donald and Edith (Lewis) Parsons, he was a life long resident. A graduate of E.C. Goodwin Technical School, he was a master carpenter for the last fourteen years and was self employed. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Japan. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Church, where he attended school and served as an alter boy. He was well known as an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He also believed in organ donation. Michael is survived by his wife, best friend and soul mate, Terri, his son Kevin, his daughter Kimberly, his son-in-law Lamont, his daughter-in-law Michele, his sister Kathleen Pitblado of Bethlehem, CT, brothers Daniel Parsons and wife Kathleen of Berlin, Richard and his wife Bonnie Parsons of Meriden, Mark and his wife Laurie Parsons of Southington, sisters Laurie and her husband Jonathan Gilbert of Michigan, Pattie and her husband Whyn Pelkey of New Britain, his six grandchildren, who will miss their "Papa", Chad, Dylan, Megan, Shawn, Bryanna and Brooke. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Theresa Galasyn, brothers-in-law Joseph Galasyn and William Galasyn all from New Britain, sister-in-law Elizabeth Jewett of New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews especially his "Hoopie Doops", "Pickle Puss", and Carlos "Guard Dog". He was predeceased by his son Bryan Heath.
Funeral arrangements which are private and at the discretion of the family will be at St. Joseph's Church, New Britain, burial with full military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Britain Police Explorers Post 25, 125 Columbus Blvd. New Britain, CT. 06051. The Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square is in charge of the arrangements.
