OBITUARIES Florence (Sorice) Alderuccio, 85, of Kensington, died Saturday (May 3, 2008) at the Ledgecrest Health care Center in Kensington surrounded by her family. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Raphael and Antoinette (Serento) Sorice, she lived in Kensington the last few years. She was predeceased by her sisters Carmella Capsalors and Rose Artibani; and a brother Anthony Sorice. Early in her career, Florence worked at Landers, Frary and Clark and at a Defense Plant during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul's Church, enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and search a word. She was extremely well known as an New York Yankees fan. Mrs. Alderuccio is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Joseph J. Alderuccio, a daughter Diane Dwyer, a son Thomas J. Alderuccio; three grandchildren Craig Dwyer, Michele Dwyer and her fiancé Jason Fetterman, Lori Dwyer and her fiancé Woodrow Stark; and several nieces and neohews. A special "Thank You" to her beloved niece Teddy Dzwonkowski, whom she adorded. Florence was affectionately known as "Little Flower". Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ledgecrest Health Care Center 154 Kensington Road Kensington, CT 06037. The family would like to express their thanks to Ledgecrest Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care given to Florence.
