OBITUARIES John W. (Jack) Harris, Jr., 80, of Farmington, died Friday morning at the John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. Born in Hartford, the son of the late John W. and Harriet (Slater) Harris, he lived many years in West Hartford, moving to Farmington fifty two years ago. He worked his entire career at The Travelers, was a World War II Navy Veteran, a former member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club of Unionville and was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Unionville. A wonderful husband and father he is survived by his beloved wife of fifty two years Helen (Murphy) Harris, a daughter Meredith Harris of Farmington, a son James and his wife Nancy Harris of Bristol, a daughter Lauren and her husband James W. Foote of Farmington; six grandchildren Ashley, Matthew and Michelle Harris, Kathleen, Susan and James Foote; his brother William and his wife Michelle Harris, a brother in law John and his wife Regina Murphy, sisters in law Sandra Murphy and Marjorie Murphy and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, Unionville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Church 16 Bidwell Square Unionville, CT 06085. The Farrell Funeral Home, New Britain is in charge of arrangements.
