Carmella D. (DeLottie) Giove, 86, of Berlin, died Wednesday at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary DeLottie, she lived most of her life in New Britain, moving to Berlin about ten years ago. She was the widow of John A. Giove. She was a para-professional at the Jefferson School in New Britain for many years before retiring in 1988 and worked at several schools for special needs children and was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington. Mrs. Giove is survived by two sons, John F. and his wife Judy Giove and Thomas S. and his wife Linda, all of Berlin, a grandson Thomas Giove, two sisters, Josephine Prince of Cromwell and Julia Ferretti of Plainville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Fiorvanti, and brothers, Anthony and George DeLottie. Funeral services will be held Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington, burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Resident Council of Ridgeview Health Care Center, 156 Berlin Rd., Cromwell, CT. 06416. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ridgeview Health Care for the wonderful care that was extended to their mother over the years.
