Catherine M. Laria, of New Britain, died Friday at a local convalescent home. Born in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Vincent and Angela (Penna) Laria, she came to Connecticut at the age of 17. She was employed at New Britain Machine, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church, the Ladies Guild of the church, the New Britain Machine Girls Club and the Jayettes. Catherine is survived by her nephews James and his wife Diane Laria, Robert and his wife Teri Laria, Richard and his wife Mary Ann Laria, James Pecora, and James and his wife Miriam Laria; her nieces Barbara Sanford and Patricia Laria; great nieces and nephews Cheryl Laria, Mark and his wife Nancy Laria, Catherine Laria, Susan and her husband Michael Klekotka, Danielle Laria, Michael Burdge, Christin and her husband Timothy Griffin, James Laria, Scott Laria, Michele Sanford, Karla Sanford, Stephen Sanford; great great nieces and nephews Matthew Laria, Katrina Griffin, John Griffin, Luk Griffin, Michael Sanford, Cristin Sanford, and Scott Lynch: her cousins Katherine Lenares, James Penna, Susan and her husband Tom Dalao, Michael Penna, Barbara and her husband John Keene, Stacy and her husband Scott King, Stephen Dalao, Adam Dalao, Joel Corriveau, Krista David and Alisa David. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 A.M from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Spirit Church, Church St. Newington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
