Mary has been a wonderful friend to me and 'godmother' to my son for many years. It always felt great to have 'Auntie Mae' in our corner. Her energy, her love, and her laugh will be missed.

A true gem has passed from this world. Mary was one of the classiest ladies I ever met, always upbeat, always informed and always a delight to be around. For all who knew her, there is one less sparkle in our lives now, without her.

I was saddened to be told of the death of Mary Meaney. I did not know her well, but I remember she worked closely with my wife in volunteer projects at the New Britain Museum of American Art. I am sorry that she never saw the new museum which opened in 2006. I think she would have been delighted with the new building. I extend my sincere sympathy.

Ms. Meaney was a wonderful person with a smile that melted your heart. For the employees who were lucky enough to be at NBGH (now HCC) when she was Director of Human Resources, she will be remembered for her kindness and hearty laugh. Not to mention her purse for every meeting. She always had time to sit and discuss any problem and never forgot anyone's name from the laundry worker on up the chain. She was a shining beacon. She will be missed, but she is with Lauren and I'm sure that makes her extremely happy.
