Bernard A. O'Neill, 87, of So. Windsor, formerly of New Britain, died Tuesday January 8, 2008 at an area convalescent home. He was the widower of Lillian (Hart) O'Neill. Born in Manchester, the son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Conlon) O'Neill. He had been employed by Underwood Typewriter Co. and later by the State of Connecticut. He was a World War II Army Veteran, having served in the European Theater. He was a member of the American Legion Post 102 and a parishioner of St. Jerome Church. Bernard is survived by his brother Arthur L. O'Neill of Vernon and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Jerome Church, Slater Road New Britain. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain, CT. 06053.
