OBITUARIES
Leona T. (Stasko) Chirdon, 92, of New Britain, died early Tuesday morning at an area convalescent home. Born in Patton, PA, the daughter of the late Stephen and Theresa Stasko, she lived in New Britain most of her life, twenty years in Dover Delaware and the last few years in Plantsville, with her daughter Shirley. She was the widow of Roy T. Chirdon. An eighteen year employee of the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, previously she was employed at Landers, Frary and Clark and the Stanley works.
Mrs. Chirdon is survived by her daughter Shirley Thomassen of Southington, her son Stephen and his wife Christine Chirdon of Farmington, five grandchildren Stephen, Matthew and his wife Jessica and John Paul Chirdon, Keith and his wife Jennifer Thomassen and Neil and his wife Jennifer Thomassen and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq New Britain with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Dominic Church, Southington. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to Hospice of Central CT / VNA 205 West Main St.
