Obituary of Helen E. Nelson

OBITUARIES Helen E. Nelson, 90 of New Britain and Old Saybrook, died Thursday Morning at the Saybrook Health Care in Old Saybrook. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Miller) Nelson she lived all her life in New Britain and spent Summers in Old Saybrook. She had been employed as a secretary in the Accounts Receivable Department of New Britain Machine for forty four years, retiring 15 years ago. She was a twenty year member of he New Britain Senior Center and was a member of the Melody Makers that entertained in convalescent homes for many years. Helen is survived by her niece Jean and her husband Bernie Gay of Middlefield, two grandnieces Molly Gay and Emily and her husband Michael Walden, a grandnephew Andy Gay and a great grandnephew Kason Walden. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Pabst, who died on Sept. 13, 2007 Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 A.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
