Obituary of Pierre J. Dionne

DIONNE: Pierre J. Dionne, 87, of New Britain, died Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Newington Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline Laprise Dionne. A lifelong resident of New Britain, he attended local schools and graduated from New Britain High before attending the American Institute of Banking. He retired in 1981 as the Assistant Vice President of the American Savings Bank. An active member of St. Peter Church, he was a former trustee, usher and served on both the financial council and parish council. Pierre was also a past director of Catholic Family Services and served on the Board of Directors for Camp Schade for 20 years where he was also a past President. In addition to his wife, Pierre is survived by his children, Eileen M. Beauchene and husband John of Opelika, AL, Janice L. Ross and husband Richard of Memphis, TN, Jacqueline M. Bezrutczyk and husband Thomas of Meriden and John P. Dionne of Seymour, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pierre was predeceased by a grandson, Evan P. Bezrutczyk and sisters, Joan Cillizza and Arnoldine and Geraldine Dionne. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Peter Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
