OBITUARIES Robert G. Walker, 75, of New Britain, died Thursday morning at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Clarence and Grace (Burns) Walker, he was a life long resident. He attended local schools and graduated from St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield. He joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country during World War II. After serving in the Navy, Bob went to work for E. Aiudi and Sons for thirty two years, retiring in 1992. He then became associated with the Farrell Funeral Home for several years. Bob was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a Patient Educator for Prostate Cancer and a member of the VFW Post 511. Bob is survived by his wife Frances (Bocompani) Walker; six children Kathleen Bevans of Burlington, Mary Ayala of New Britain, John Walker of New Britain, William Walker of Southington, James Walker of Bradenton, FL, Thomas Walker of Greenfield, MA and twelve grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 8:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church Stanley St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7762 Attn: Contribution Services.
